Hi, I’m Briana!

I am the founder and owner of MindRoots Counseling. Since I can remember, I have always enjoyed helping people and solving problems, and over the last decade I have worked in various settings with a wide range of people doing just that. I have experience with case management, facilitating individual, family, and group therapy, creating therapeutic curriculums, supervising clinical staff, and creating health and wellness content. In addition to working at MindRoots,  I am also a consultant providing trainings, consultation, and counseling to various workplaces and organizations. I am trained in mindfulness, trauma-informed practices, and various behavioral therapies.

I am a relational therapist who practices therapy through a holistic and trauma-informed lens, considering an individual's experiences and relationships that might influence their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. As a therapist, I truly look at the whole person. I help clients develop awareness to identify and break unhelpful behaviors and patterns that keep them feeling stuck and unfulfilled. I am here to provide tools, support, and guidance in helping you become who you want to be so you can thrive in your life. I truly believe everyone is capable of change!

Something that sets me apart from other therapists is that I challenge the idea that a therapist needs to be a blank slate, and I believe authenticity and genuine connection is an important part of the therapeutic relationship and process. Just like most humans, I know what it is like to go through a hard time. While we can’t always control or change what happens to us in life, we can choose how we respond and learn to build resilience within ourselves. My own experiences and struggles have equipped me to effectively support and help others through their own challenges. I am a genuine, direct, and relatable therapist who won't shy away from calling out unhelpful patterns and behaviors, in a compassionate way, of course.

Aside from my professional work, I'm interested in health and wellness, spending time in nature, outdoor activities, photography, reading, cooking, traveling, and spending time with my loved ones and my dog.
